PT Brookes — Plan & Train

A meal and workout planner that runs entirely in the browser. No accounts, no server, works offline, prints to PDF.

PT Brookes meal planner on a dark interface: recipe cards with calories and dietary tags, filter chips and a serving selector

The situation

I wanted a planner for meals and training that worked on a phone and a laptop, kept everything private, and didn't need a login or a subscription to exist.

What I built

  • Four single-file HTML pages: landing, meal planner, workout planner, dashboard.
  • Recipes with calories per serving, serving scaling and an automatic shopping list.
  • Workouts with a gym/home toggle, form visuals and a weekly plan.
  • A dashboard reading both planners' saved state: food log against a target, weekly chart, weight trend.
  • PDF export, dark mode, and a validation script that refuses to ship broken data.

Stack

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • localStorage
  • Netlify

Result

Live, free to use, and maintained through a small content pipeline where new recipes and workouts are added as data and checked automatically before they publish.
